SkinPen® Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is the perfect way to rejuvenate dull or deteriorated skin and reduce the appearance of aging skin and acne scars. The SkinPen® microneedling device specifically targets delicate areas around the nose and mouth to assist in the collagen remodeling process.

How Does It Work?

SkinPen® uses adjustable length, disposable straight needles to penetrate at a 90-degree angle. This adjustability allows for differences in skin thickness and skin types. The vertical technology allows for extra precision. The microneedling device creates micro-injuries to the skin that trigger the skin’s production of elastin and collagen.

Am I a Candidate?

The SkinPen procedure is perfect for all skin types, on all skin colors. It can be used to address signs of aging and acne scarring on the face, as well as the neck, décolletage, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back. The SkinPen device offers a range of needle lengths to adapt to each individual’s skin thickness and their desired treatment area. The SkinPen procedure can be used to rejuvenate skin on several areas on the body. The customizable procedure ensures that all skin types and areas produce results.

What is the procedure like?

The procedure only takes about 30 minutes. A topical anesthetic can be applied to the treatment area prior to the procedure to reduce any discomfort. Most patients report only feeling the vibration of the microneedling device.

Is microneedling safe?

The most common side effect is redness and swelling in treated area that only lasts up to two or four days. It is comparable to a mild to moderate sunburn. Regular activities and hobbies can resume quickly after the procedure. The procedure naturally rejuvenates skin by triggering collagen and elastin production. Unlike chemical peels, the SkinPen procedure uses no chemicals or toxins. The micro-injuries produced from the device trigger the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin.
