To find out more about the benefits of this treatment, we should have a look at what CoolSculpting is, how it works, and look at what you can expect from the procedure.
CoolSculpting basics
This popular method of eliminating fat is done using a process called cryolipolysis, and is not a solution for losing weight, only to sculpt areas of the body, exercise and dietary changes have not been able to address. It is often used on your thighs, sides, abdomen, upper arms and your chin, and a single treatment has been shown to get up to 80% fat reduction where it is targeted.
How it works
Cryolipolysis is the scientific term for fat freezing, a process where fat cells, or adipocytes, are exposed to freezing temperatures which breaks them down so they can be naturally removed from your body through your lymphatic system. Because the fat cells are more vulnerable to freezing temperatures than the surrounding tissue, you can be exposed to the process and not suffer harm to tissue around the target.
Procedure details
This is an outpatient process where you come in, the areas to be treated are outlined with a pencil, and you’re placed in an area where the treatment is done. Next, a gel is applied to protect areas where the applicator is applied to your skin, freezing the fat cells. After that, the areas treated will be suctioned which will feel like a pulling or tugging of your skin. You’ll also feel intense cold along with some tingling, aching, and cramping during the procedure.
The whole process can take as long as an hour for a single area, and once the application is complete, the area will be massaged to help the breakdown of the fat cells. Results can be seen as soon as three weeks after the treatment, and those results can improve up to a year after.
This is a simple, low risk nonsurgical way to finally reach your body shaping goals without damage to your body.
